How many restaurants are using an iPad POS system?

Millennials eat out more than any other generation; choosing to dine out once every fortnight. As a result, the food industry is booming, having to handle more orders – including the unstoppable rise of takeaways – than previous years.

Restaurant owners are having to up their game, with over 80% exploring new technology to ensure their establishment is running like a well-oiled machine at all times. The National Restaurant Association found that 37% of restaurant operators believe customer ordering is the most important area of technology development in the next five years.

When ordering, iPad POS systems benefit both vendor and customer. 72% of single-location restaurant owners show interest in mobile point of sale according to Software Advice. Restauranteurs are beginning to discover the importance of implementing swift technology to stay in the game; recognising the value of fast ordering and up-to-date payment technology, in keeping their customers happy.

iPad POS systems refresh table-side ordering. Orders are (digitally) sent straight to the kitchen which makes the process quicker, easier, and leaves less room for human error. Orders can be altered in a flash and those tattered pads and pens can be discarded.

Faster ordering means happier customers and the ability to turn tables faster. A study by Toast found that 61% of diners agree that waiters using handheld tablets improve their guest experience.

Implementing tablets at individual tables is also an option for iPad POS systems, giving guests the freedom to browse and order in their own time. You can read more about this here.
