Flavourtown Bakery has been baking the best cupcakes, cakes, brownies and cookies in London for 10 years. Having started from a market stall in East London, they have gone on to supply some of London’s most prestigious departments stores and now hand deliver customer orders across London.
Flavourtown Bakery has one store in Fulham and a new Richmond store which opened in March 2021. They bake fresh on site daily and use the world’s best ingredients including French Butter, Belgian Chocolate and Organic free range Clarence Court eggs. They make all their own sauces, caramels and compotes and keep the menu fresh by creating weekly specials available in our stores.
We caught up with Luke Elliott, Co-Founder & Creative Director at Flavourtown, to discuss their new Bouncepad Counter products.
Tell us about Flavourtown Bakery…
The whole brand is about bringing the absolute best quality ingredients together in a fun, exciting and modern way. So many cupcakes are dry and old fashioned using cheap and nasty ingredients. We are constantly tweaking and testing to make sure everything we make is the absolute best treat you can buy. If it doesn’t pass the “deliciousness test” it doesn’t go on the menu!
What are you using tablets for?
We are using Bouncepads as a Point of Sale (POS) system in our stores. We needed an elegant solution that complemented the design of the store, whilst remaining secure and easy to use during extremely busy periods!
Can you describe the content or applications being used on your tablets?
We use Lightspeed POS software across both tablets and run the usual printers for receipts and wireless card readers. We also operate on Deliveroo so these orders are processed through the till units, ensuring we can react quickly to prepare these orders as fast as possible is essential.
Customers can also order cakes from our website in-store, so the Bouncepad is perfect for displaying the range on our website to customers. Our team can rotate the Bouncepad to demonstrate all the cake designs available.
Why did you choose Bouncepad?
Bouncepad was recommenced via our Point of Sale software company. We needed a secure, modern and elegant solution to blend in with design aesthetics of our stores. We invested heavily into the design of our new Richmond store and are working with some fantastic designers, so our POS choice had to match with the quality of the finish. The cable management was a real plus and all the cables seamlessly fit through the unit to hide the ugly wires.
Are there any features of the Counter you feel are particularly suited to Point of Sale?
We have used other brands in the past, but we have found Bouncepad are the best in terms of security, stability and design. There does not seem to be any other brands on the market that really pays attention to the design of the units like Bouncepad. It can often be overlooked as till systems are ubiquitous in cafes, but we really wanted something that matched the design vision of the stores.
